Two Birds

Two birds sat by my window.
They did not say much to each other;
but I knew what they knew.
They did not need to speak,
they only needed to know.
One was there for the other,
and they loved each other so.

Forever Silent

Everyone has it.
That feeling deep inside the soul.
That longing for something more.

It is there,
ever so secretively.
It drives, pushes, forces
you to keep going
"Don't stop," it whispers,
"not yet, not quite yet."

A surge of passion consumes you.
An enormous thrust of drive
pushes you one step closer
to what you long for.

Your hopes are up, your head is high.
"I can do this," you think.
You spot another obstacle.
"You didn't think itd be that easy,
did you?" mocks Longing.

You push and push,
exhausted and hopeless.

Everything is calm.
Your soul is no longer restless.
Your passion is fed.
Your thirst for longing has been quenched.

Longing has a cheeky grin smothered on his face.
"You have made it," he shouts.
No more longing for more.

The calmness settles in.
The restlessness has vanished.
Silence consumes all.

Ravaging Memory

The fire burns.
It rages and roars.

It will consume all;
leaving no survivor.

It eats away at everything.
Quietly ravaging against
the walls protecting her.

It will not stop.
Not until it has swallowed up
every inch of her soul.
Not until it has captured
her heart.
Not until it has invaded
her thoughts.

The fire feels drops of water,
slowly trickling down its scorched body.

The fire burns faster.
It rages and roars,
no longer stopping
to catch its breath.

It must race against the water.
It must wreak even more havoc.

It reaches her soul.
But is quickly put out.
It moves to her soul,
and fails to capture it.
Finally, it tries her thoughts.
Seductively moving so the flames
can invade her.

The water sees the invasion,
and douses the fire.

All that is left is
the memory of the flames
licking her skin.

Loyal Tides

The ocean is the only thing that makes sense anymore. Knowing that the tides will forever continue to come and go is comforting. The tide will only temporarily leave you, but you know in your heart it will come rushing back to you.

There it goes again, and here it comes.
The sand succumbs to the waves.
Each grain gasps for breath before being completely enveloped.
The roar of the crashing waves is a reminder that the ocean is king.

There it goes again, and here it comes.
It's so liberating to be near the ocean, let alone in it.
The water ravages my body,
leaving no part untouched.
At first it is unbearable.
Then exhilarating. And finally, addicting.

solitude

the waves roar, yet
the noise doesn't erase the silence.
lost souls look for answers
within each splash of ocean water.
boats try to stay on course, but
the current is too seductive.
sunshine desires to show skin, but
the clouds are selfish with their time.

Introduction

I've decided to start writing again. Except this time I'm going to do things a little differently. Every week I'm going to post a new part to a story I have recently started writing. Along with this continuous story, I am going to post other pieces of writing I have written or pieces of writing that inspires me.
